Singapore's foreign trade up 28 percent in Q2

Singapore's total external trade increased by 28 percent in the second quarter of 2010 on a year-on- year basis, after a 27 percent rise recorded in the previous quarter, official data showed on Tuesday.
The level of total trade reached 228 billion Singapore dollars (about 169 billion U.S. dollars) in the second quarter of this year. Total exports and total imports expanded year-on-year by 29 and 27 percent respectively in the second quarter, according to trade promoting agency International Enterprise (IE) Singapore. Full Story
