Singapore Regulator Tries to End Bid Standoff

The Securities Industry Council, or SIC, said in a written statement that the "company's shareholders should be provided with certainty to make their investment decisions in respect of the competing offers." The council added that the bidders haven't declared their offers final.
It is one of the rare occasions in the city-state -- which is known for its strict financial regulations and transparency -- that the takeover regulator has stepped in to direct the bidders for a company to come up with revised offers. Full story
