Qantas turned to Emirates for alliance after being snubbed by Temasek - report

Qantas Airways Ltd reportedly attempted to break up the alliance between Singapore Airlines and Virgin Australia, and only turned to Emirates once its efforts were rejected by the Singaporeans.
Qantas executives approached senior figures at Temasek, the sovereign wealth fund that owns 56 per cent of Singapore Air, in an effort to sell an alliance with the larger Australian carrier, sources told The Australian Financial Review.
However, talks ended when it became clear Singaporean carrier's management was not interested in an partnership with Qantas, the newspaper reported. Link
