With a day to go to the polls in the Hougang by-election, Workers’ Party (WP) chairman Sylvia Lim – during the party’s final rally on Thursday night – laid an appeal to undecided voters.
Urging them to support her colleague Png Eng Huat, Ms Lim said a member of parliament (MP) has two roles.
First, in his local role, the MP has to look after the constituency, make recommendations and take care of his ward.
He also has a national role in parliament, scrutinising laws and checking how the government spends tax payers’ money, she added. Full story
