In the final by-election rallying cry on Thursday, Workers' Party secretary-general Low Thia Khiang urged Hougang voters not to be "distracted" in the country's march towards a First World Parliament.
In recent days, the integrity of WP candidate Pg Eng Huat has been called into question by Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who accused him of flip-flopping over the non-constituency member of parliament (NCMP) issue.
But as 23,368 Hougang voters head to the polls on Saturday, he urged them not to be "distracted" and said, "This is not the time to step back" in the continuation of Singapore's journey into a First World Parliament. Full story
