China's panda couple to arrive in Singapore in Sept.

SINGAPORE, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Long-waited panda couple from China, Kai Kai and Jia Jia are scheduled to arrive in Singapore on Sept. 6, Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS), the operator and parent company of the country's Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, Singapore Zoo and the upcoming River Safari, released on Wednesday.
The pandas are on a 10-year loan from the China Wildlife Conservation Association (CWCA) to Singapore, as a part of both countries' efforts in raising public awareness on wildlife conservation and developing a breeding programme for endangered animals. They also represent the close diplomatic ties between the two countries. Full story
