Singapore, Britain tie up to fight infectious diseases

SINGAPORE, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and Britain's Medical Research Council(MRC) on Tuesday pumped in 4.5 million Singapore dollars (3. 24 million U.S. dollars) in research grants to fight infectious diseases.
Six collaborative research projects in diseases such as gastric flu, hepatitis B, dengue fever and tuberculosis were funded, as each project targets to develop a treatment, vaccine or antimicrobial project to address disease infection, an A*STAR statement said. Full Story
