Singapore's Acting Manpower Minister Gan Kim Yong said on Wednesday that progressive human resource practices in the ASEAN will help the region ride out the current economic turmoil.
Speaking at the inaugural Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) Human Resource Summit, Gan said that Singapore has invested heavily in education and training workers for continuous employment.
Gan shared with the regional audience Singapore's experience of the Continuous Education and Training (CET) Master plan, which allows workers to refresh their skills and get qualifications from well-established institutions, so that they can move on into new areas of work.
