Some restrictions on the plan to let singles buy new HDB flats are being studied by the government, Minister of National Development Khaw Boon Wan indicated on Saturday, as he acknowledged that the move to help singles should not be at the “severe” expense of married couples.
Addressing the issue on Saturday in his blog post, Khaw said he had received a lot of feedback after Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced in his National Day rally speech that the government would actively look into the housing concerns of singles. Full story
