Thai PM Abhisit patches up Thai Tiger row

Premier Abhisit Vejjajiva yesterday threw his support behind Thai Airways International's controversial plan to set up a low-cost carrier with Singapore-based Tiger Airways.
During his first official visit to the flag carrier's head office, the prime minister told Transport Minister Sohpon Zarum, who has opposed the agreement to set up Thai Tiger Airways (TTA), not to interfere with what he called "a corporate decision".
The prime minister reaffirmed his support for the creation of the 51:49 joint venture, telling reporters that the establishment formed part of THAI's strategic plan and the subject rests with THAI's management. Full story
