Travel agents decide to help Indian carriers with zero commission after dispute with SIA remains unresolved

PUNE: As the dispute between Indian travel agents and Singapore Airlines continues over agents commission, the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) and agents fraternity have decided to support national carrier Air India and other Indian carriers with zero per cent commission.
Since January, 2009, the travel agents who had been demanding their due commission from Singapore Airlines have gone unheeded. As a result, most agents across India in a show of solidarity refuse to sell tickets for Singapore Airlines now.
Despite their earlier disputes, airlines like Jet Airways, Kingfisher and Air India, have come out in support of travel federation and reinstated their commissions. Airlines from Hong Kong and China are also espousing the agents cause.
