Report Revealed 48 Thousand Bangladeshis Worked In Singapore Last Year

Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Minister Engineer Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain yesterday told the Jatiya Sangsad [JS] that during 2008-2009 fiscal year a total of 6,45,779 Bangladeshis went abroad with foreign employments.
The country wise break-up of the Bangladeshi workers abroad in the last financial year is:
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia [KSA] - 33,014, United Arab Emirates [UAE]- 3,37,454 , Kuwait- 311, Oman- 47,375, Qatar- 18.045, Bahrain - 20,823, Lebanon- 13, 830, Jordan- 1,302, Libya- 12,303, Sudan- 547, Malaysia- 85,693, Singapore - 48,138, South Korea - 1,978, United Kingdom [UK] - 1,434, Italy- 5,138, Japan- 94, Egypt- 2,567, Brunei- 1,910, Mauritius- 1,778, Romania- 292 while 2,996 people were employed in several other countries.
