Ships collide in Singapore Strait

TWO SHIPS were damaged in a collision this morning in the Singapore Strait. “There were no injuries, no casualties, no pollution,” a representative told Fairplay at Executive Ship Management, which manages Aljalaa, a 115,577dwt crude tanker. There was collision at some time about 0245 to 0300 with MSC Kalina, a 14,000teu box ship. The cause is under investigation, the company said. MSC declined to comment. Singapore’s Maritime & Ports Authority added that the collision happened about 3.5km southeast of Pulau Sebarok.
