Singapore, Oman discuss economic, political issues

SINGAPORE —The Singaporean Minister of Foreign Affairs George Yong-Boon Yeo yesterday met Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, secretary-general of the Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments in addition to discussing a number of issues of mutual concern aiming in order to boost friendly relations and cooperation in different domains.

The fifth round of political consultations between the two countries was held at the Singaporean Foreign Ministry. The Omani side to the meeting was led by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi and from the Singaporean side, the deputy minister of foreign affairs.

The two sides reviewed a number of issues of bilateral interest, means of boosting the existing cooperation between the two countries and expanding them on the public and private sector levels.

They also discussed a number of current political issues at West Asia, the Middle East and exchanged views on them in light of the two countries’ interest in supporting dialogue, understanding and peace.
