A consortium comprising private equity firms Blackstone Group LP, (BX: Quote), Carlyle Group LP, (CG: Quote), KKR & Co. LP (KKR: Quote) and Singapore's state investment company Temasek Holdings Ltd. reportedly were in discussions about a joint bid of about $11 billion or about $62 per share for the life sciences firm.
