Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong says he hopes parts of the new Star Wars films will be produced here.
Walt Disney Co is buying over Lucasfilm in a deal that is worth over S$4.9 billion and will be producing more Star Wars films. Stars Wars 7 is already slated for 2015.
“I have only watched one of the Star Wars movies myself (Episode III: Revenge of the Sith), but I hope that Singapore can benefit from this…Hopefully part of the new Star Wars movies will soon be produced in Singapore, and not a long time more in a galaxy far, far away,” PM Lee said in his Facebook post.
