Singaporeans value quality life over longevity - study

SINGAPORE, Oct 18 — Singaporeans value pain management and quality of healthcare more than twice as much as they value a longer life, a study has found.
The study on end-of-life care preferences was presented by the Lien Centre for Palliative Care at a conference yesterday.
Researchers interviewed 522 Singapore citizens and permanent residents aged 50 and above to find out how important factors such as life expectancy, pain management, and cost of treatment are in affecting decisions for end-of-life care. Full story
