Environment Council wants retailers to charge consumers for plastic bags

The Singapore Environment Council (SEC) is looking at ways to reduce the excessive use of plastic bags in Singapore.
One possible option is for supermarkets to start charging for plastic bag........Provision shops, food outlets and hawkers stalls may follow suit too, the paper added. Full story
