Foreigners complain about new primary one enrolment rule

The new revised primary one registration scheme gives Singaporeans priority over permanent residents in balloting exercises and was announced on Sunday (25 Mar) by the Ministry of Education.
Frustrated non-citizen parents are complaining that their efforts – moving to Singapore, buying a house near their ideal primary school – have come to naught.
Ms Jin Mei, 43, sold her condominium and moved into an HDB flat near popular Tao Nan School in hopes of enrolling her child in the respected institution.
She is now lamenting that with the prioritisation scheme in place, it will be even harder for her child to score a place there. Full story
