Chinese clan federation proposes new culture center to help "intergrate" new chinese immigrants into Singapore

SINGAPORE, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) has proposed the establishment of a new Chinese cultural center, local media reported on Thursday.
The new center will be a one-stop venue for the local Chinese community that can be used for performances and exhibitions as well as networking events and seminars, said Chua Thian Poh, president of the federation.
It will also help new immigrants integrate in the local society and help make Singapore a more inclusive and elegant society by promoting cultural interactions with other ethnic communities as well, Chua said at a Chinese New Year reception. Full story
