An online advertisement by a foreigner has been agitating some Singaporean netizens.
According to a blogger called Alex Lew, a lady from The Philippines is allegedly attempting to illegally rent out a built-to-order (BTO) flat at Jade Springs in Yishun.
According to the ad, the charges are "$30 per head per night" and "for Filipinos".
Lew wrote on his blog, "Please spread the news far and wide as we try to alert authorities. Is this way Singaporeans find it so hard to get BTO Flats? Can Minister MND deal with cases like this?"
Renting out HDB flat rooms on a nightly basis like a hotel is prohibited.
Netizens were outraged with the ad and some expressed frustration as they had tried getting a flat at Jade Springs but failed. Link
