Indonesian businessman Ie Seng Hoan, 88, took the stand yesterday in his lawsuit against the bank, which he blames for his investment losses. But he had such trouble remembering details of his case when questioned by the bank's lawyer that Justice Philip Pillai suggested he be taken through each line of his affidavit.
Speaking through a Hokkien interpreter, Ie repeatedly stressed that the events happened a long time ago, that he was in his 80s and hard of hearing. Full story
