Presidential candidate Tan Jee Say on Thursday clarified that challenging the government does not mean he will be confrontational.
He was referring to the remarks made at his election rally on Tuesday at Toa Payoh stadium where he said that the government needs to be challenged and checked to prevent it from being complacent.
The former civil service high-flyer was also responding to presidential candidate Dr Tan Cheng Bock's comment that he was "disturbed" by Tan's remarks as they could "create dissent" between the president and government. Full story
