Tony Tan reiterates: Singapore should not make it too ‘difficult’ for foreigners to study here

Stung by online criticism over his pro-foreigner education policies which disadvantage many native Singaporeas in the 1980s and 1990s, PAP-endorsed presidential candidate Dr Tony Tan now tries to throw a smoke-screen to confuse Singaporeans.
Speaking today at the Singapore Management University on the futures of higher education, Dr Tan claimed that he has always ‘put the interests of Singaporeans and Singapore first.’
“What I understand by this is that Singaporeans can be put first. Whatever initiatives we launch, we must always put the interests of Singaporeans and Singapore first.”
However he was quick to reiterate that having a ‘Singaporean first’ education policy does not mean making it ‘difficult’ for foreigners to study here....Full story
