Singapore seeks info on nude squats duo

SINGAPORE, June 15 — A report that two Singaporean women were forced to do nude squats while detained in Malaysia has drawn concern from the Singapore government, which now wants the Malaysian authorities to explain the incident.
“Our consulate in (Joho Baru) has been in touch with the Malaysian immigration authorities to enquire on the investigation and detention procedures that the two Singaporeans underwent,” the daily quoted a ministry spokesperson as saying.
It added that the ministry will also bring the women’s complaints to the attention of the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore as soon as it obtains more information. Full story
