Singapore not trying to attract banks via regulatory arbitrage - MAS

(Reuters) - Singapore's central bank said on Thursday that its regulatory regime is in line with or exceeds international standards, rebutting suggestions it is trying to attract financial institutions by having weaker regulation.
Earlier this week, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said that the United States was leading the reform of derivatives regulation and warned Europe and Asia that they needed to be aligned with the new American standards. Full story
