SINGAPORE, June 19 (Bernama) -- China's Lin Dan pulled out of the Li Ning Singapore Open men's singles final without even lifting his racquet after being floored by a stomach strain.
The reigning Olympic and world champion was to have played countryman Chen Jin in the final at the Indoor Stadium here today for a shot at a title he has never won before.
China's team officials had informed the tournament referee in the morning that their No 1 player would not be able to play in the final because of pain in his stomach. Full story
