Singapore-inspired Mohali project faces bleak future

MOHALI: Next Singapore! Even as many politicians and agenda-makers project Mohali as an emerging destination for business activity, the ground reality is astonishingly different.
The already existing 1,200 industrial units in Mohali are finding it hard to survive in wake of the recent power crisis. Several such units have to shut down operations during weekends due to 15 hour-long power cuts being imposed during the two days.
Apart from the daily peak load hours, cuts are being imposed from 8am-10:30am on Saturdays. According to an estimate, the outages are giving rise to losses amounting to Rs 25-30 crore per week. Full Story
