Indians form society to promote Malayalam in Singapore

Singapore Indians have formed Malayalam Language Education Society with an aim to promote teaching of Malayalam as one of the mother tongue languages in Singapore schools.
Welcoming the move, Law Minister K Shanmugam said: "Malayalam has a rich tradition, it is culturally a very rich language as well, and people who are Malayalees should be encouraged to access and strengthen their roots and that does not detract in any way from being Singaporean." Full Story
