Singapore firms cautious about wage increases: survey

A recent survey showed that Singapore firms are still cautious about wage increases, mainly due to continuing worries about the strength and sustainability of the economic recovery, local media reported on Thursday.
According to a survey conducted by the Singapore Human Resource Institute (SHRI) and Remuneration Data Specialists (RDS), basic wage increases this year averaged 2.8 percent, while variable bonuses will average 2.2 months this year, this will result in a total wage increase of 6 percent, local TV broadcaster Channel NewsAsia reported.
