Singapore Manufacturing Soars On Strong Pharmaceuticals Output

Industrial production in Singapore rose sharply in April mainly due to a surge in production in the pharmaceuticals sector, an official report showed on Wednesday. The strong output is the latest in a series of impressive economic data from the city-state and justifies the consensus that Asia is leading the global recovery.
The Economic Development Board of Singapore reported that industrial output jumped 51% year-on-year in April, faster than the 46.6% increase in the previous month. Economists were looking for a 20.7% rise. Full Story
