Singapore gives green light for new exchange

Asia's newest commodity derivatives exchange has been given the go-ahead by regulators and is set to start trading in the first quarter of next year.
The Singapore Mercantile Exchange, which will be Asia's first independent multi-product commodity derivatives exchange offering unrestricted crossborder trading, said yesterday that it had been given approval "in principle" by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
