THE final meeting of the second session of the 12th parliament is coming to a close and by now almost all the MPs are aware that whenever the subject of AirAsia is raised in the Dewan Rakyat, Wee Choo Keong (PKR-Wangsa Maju) will insist on giving his two sen worth about the low-cost carrier.During question time on Tuesday, Choo Keong again broached the subject of the airport taxes which AirAsia collected but have not faced any action despite not settling it in full to the government.
He said AirAsia did not pay up the taxes since 2002 but no action was taken against the airline unlike in the case of Terengganu state government’s Pelangi Air – PAS was in control of the state then – where as the result of action taken, it had to close down.
