Singapore visitor numbers fell at slower pace in July

SINGAPORE -- Visitor arrivals to Singapore fell at a slower pace in July, partly due to attractive holiday packages and promotions as the tourism sector tries to recover from the global economic downturn.
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said the number of visitors arriving in the city—state dropped 4.5 per cent to 881,000 in July, its smallest year—on—year decline this year.
