Taiwan court confirms 28-month jail sentence for Singapore broker in Papua New Guinea scandal

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The Supreme Court on Thursday confirmed a prison sentence of two years and four months for the Singapore broker involved in a scandal involving diplomatic relations with Papua New Guinea.
The court rejected an appeal against the same sentence by the High Court for forgery by Wu Shih-tsai, a man who promised the previous administration of President Chen Shui-bian that he could persuade Papua New Guinea to establish diplomatic relations with Taiwan.
