IOC says recession won't hurt Youth Games

SINGAPORE (AP) — The International Olympic Committee says its first Summer Youth Games in Singapore next year won't be affected by the global economic slowdown even as sponsors struggle for funds.
"The IOC is in good financial condition," said Sergey Bubka, chairman of the IOC's coordination commission for the games, on Wednesday. "The crisis that exists today in the world won't impact on the participation of the athletes."
