Hewitt Associates has named Singapore Marriott Hotel as Singapore's best employer for the second year in a row according to the Hewitt Best Employers in Singapore 2009 study. This study identifies what it is that makes organizations Best Employers. More than 50 organizations registered to participate in the 2009 study with input from more than 10,000 employees that represented more than 50,000 people. The year’s participants represented 10 different industry classifications, the largest being Hospitality/Restaurants, which accounted for 35%. Amidst a stellar representation of companies, Singapore Marriott emerged tops, being one of only two hotels awarded the accolade.
