Singapore shipper moving to Phoenix

The Phoenix area's quality of life and lower cost of doing business have attracted a major international-container shipping and transportation company.

Singapore-based Neptune Orient Lines, the seventh-largest shipping company in the world, this year will move its American headquarters from Oakland to metropolitan Phoenix to take advantage of cheaper business and living costs.

From here, the company will manage operations of 130 ships and thousands of containers as they move among ports throughout North, Central and South America.
