SINGAPORE The Union of International Associations (UIA) has named Singapore as the world's top international meeting city for 2007.
Singapore was also ranked as Asia’s top country for international meetings.
It is the first time that Singapore has claimed the prize as the world’s top international meeting city. It beat favourites Paris and Vienna, which were ahead of it in 2006.
Singapore hosted 465 international meetings in 2007, compared with 315 for Paris and 298 for Vienna.
