Singapore to open reservoir in financial district

SINGAPORE, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Singapore is set to open its largest reservoir near the city's business district in November as part of plans to boost water security by cutting dependence on imported water. The Marina Reservoir, which is set to open on Nov. 1, will have a catchment area of 10,000 ha (24,710 acres) and will be the 15th reservoir in the Southeast Asian country, Singapore's state water agency PUB said.
