SINGAPORE, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Singapore received fewer visitors compared to a year ago in September as the financial crisis reduced demand for travel, prompting the government to warn 2008 performance will likely miss official targets.
The Singapore Tourism Board, which reiterated the weakness in tourism business may persist in 2009, said Singapore received 739,000 visitors in September, a 4.1 percent fall from a year ago and the fourth straight month of decline.
