Nasdaq, 31 Oct 2008, Dow Jones

SINGAPORE -(Dow Jones)- Singapore government Friday said it has lifted the ban on converting office space in the central area to other uses as demand for office space softens.

"Given that there is an adequate supply of office space coming into the market over the next two years, there is no need to continue with the ban on the conversion of office space to other uses in the central area," the Ministry of National Development said in a statement.

The ban will be lifted with immediate effect.
