Singapore opposition leader on trial for illegal public speaking

Singapore - Singapore's most vocal opposition leader and a supporter will go on trial again July 14 for speaking in public without a permit, the third time the pair face a judge since the run-up to the 2006 general elections. Chee Soon Juan's lawyer, Chia Ti Lik, said Thursday that the trial of Chee and party supporter Yap Keng Ho will involve only one of six charges. The other five are pending.
