SINGAPORE, Fri: Singapore is sending a 55-member search-and-rescue team to China today to look for survivors of the Monday’s devastating earthquake that destroyed several cities in the Sichuan province.
It is believed Singapore is the second country to be allowed to enter China after Japan was given the green light yesterday to send a similar team to assist in the emergency relief aid in the south-western province of China.
Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the men from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) would be sent to Chengdu.
