Singapore March retail sales climb 5.6 percent vs year ago - UPDATE

SINGAPORE (Thomson Financial) - Singapore's retail sales rebounded in March from February as higher food and energy prices forced consumers to spend more, the Department of Statistics said Thursday.

Retail sales rose 5.6 percent to S$2.89 billion in March from the same time a year ago, after dropping 1.3 percent in February.
