Trouserless Islamic Militant On The Loose In Singapore

Mas Selamat bin Kastari, a suspected Islamic militant, managed to escape custody from a Singapore detention center - albeit minus his trousers. Kastari managed to escape through a window in one the detention center's urinal cubicles.

The two guards responsible for escorting him failed to inspect them cubicle before Kastari's escape. The two have since been replaced. Kastari was being held for alledgedly plotting to crash a plane into Singapore's airport.

Wong Kan Seng, Singapore's deputy prime minister, told parliament that Kastari, who is suspected to be the leader of Singapore's Jemaah Islamiah network, could pose a danger if he is able connect with other Jemaah Islamiah members.
