Indonesia strengthen security precautions in border

Samarinda (ANTARA News) - In anticipation of the entry of the leader of Singapore`s chapter of the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) Mas Selamet bin Kastari into Indonesian territory, East Kalimantan police has tightened security precautions in the Indonesia-Malaysia border regions, East Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Indarto said in Samarinda on Wednesday.

Besides routine patrols, the police will also send out five 40-knot speed boats along the border regions of the two countries.

The five police speed boats, Indarto said, will be standing ready on alert in Tarakan, and patrol the waters of Nunukan regency in areas bordering directly with Malaysia.
