Broome man remanded over Singapore flight breach

ABC News

A Broome man charged with illegally flying into Singapore has attended a pre-trial hearing.

The Singapore Air Force intercepted Rhys Thomas' plane on January 23 and forced him to land at Changi airport.

The 59-year-old has been charged with flying an aircraft without a certificate of air-worthiness.

Mr Thomas was granted bail but the Singapore Government refused his application to leave Singapore on compassionate grounds.

He has been remanded to reappear on March 20.
