The National University of Singapore conferred a honorary degree of doctor of laws on former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew on Tuesday.
Singapore's President Tony Tan Keng Yam, who is also chancellor of the university, presided over the ceremony at the Istana. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and other members of the Lee family as well as cabinet ministers attended the ceremony.
"There can also be no better person who exemplifies the personal attributes that would inspire and energize our students, graduates and broader community in NUS and beyond, as we seek to thrive in a more complex and volatile world," said Tan Chorh Chuan, president of the university. Full story
