They are the nation’s pride, the best footballers in Singapore aged 21 and below. But, when this S-League season ends in the second week of November, the Courts Young Lions could face the ignominy of being the first team to face the $50,000 penalty under the S-League’s ruling on poor performance.
In the absence of a promotion-and-relegation system, last year the S-League mooted the idea of placing a penalty of $50,000 and $30,000 on the sides that finished last and second from bottom respectively in the 12-team league. Full story
